We all know that education is important. Educating our youth enhances our future.
Education is a survival skill that every youth needs in order to be productive in society. We do
not throw children into a large body of water without the ability to swim or they will drown. The
same is true for education. It just takes longer than a few lessons to learn this survival skill. A
human being begins learning the minute they are born and that instinct does not stop until they
die. The ability to learn is a gift that everyone has been given and as an educator I am honored to
take a role in unwrapping that gift.
When you ask someone what makes them successfully, they may respond that they are a
hard-worker, a good role model, a clever businessman, or ambitious. However; the real reason
they are successful is because several people took the time to influence them by educating them.
“Our task is to provide an education for the kind of kids we have. Not the kind of kids we used
to have or want to have or the kind that exists in our dreams.”—Dr. Gerald E. Anderson
