$1000x100x2018 Campaign

1000x100x2018 Campaign

Several months ago we decided to embark on a campaign to resurface and update the field turf at Allen Stadium.  Our campaign is called
1000 x 100 x 2018 and our goal is to have 1,000 people give $100 by June of 2018 to raise $100,000.

What was built in the late 70’s for high school football, certainly has housed gridiron champions throughout the years.  It has produced numerous collegiate stars and four NFL players including Chuck McSwain, Rod McSwain, Keyon Whiteside, and now Carlos Watkins.  Additionally, it has become the home to our renowned Marching Trojan Band, a championship men’s soccer program, track and field champions, CHASE Youth Football, CHASE Middle School Football, women’s soccer, and it has hosted many other community and school events over the years.

What once had to withstand three months of wear and tear, now has to endure year round use.  The type of soil foundation and Bermuda grass on our field can not withstand the use it endures now.  Over the last ten years the condition of the playing surface has declined and can not recover from one season to the next.  While efforts to maintain it are continuous and our students enjoy using it, we believe our CHASE kids deserve the best, and we want to give it to them.

Initial estimates of $100,000 will allow us to cut the old turf out, grade the foundation appropriately with laser leveling tools, install modern irrigation to cover the entire field, and sod the field with athletic hybrid Bermuda turf.

While we know the field at Allen Stadium has held many epic battles over the years for our alumni and holds thousands of treasured memories from the past.  We want to invest in the future.  What are your memories: a graduation ceremony, a band competition, a championship earned from one of our many sports, or some other event you may have attended?  Regardless of your memory or story from the past, we are asking you the step up for our school.

This effort will continue until we raise the $100,000, and it will kickoff at our last home football game this year on Friday night, Nov. 3rd, 2017 vs. RS Central.  We think we can raise at least $25,000 on that night.  Will you consider making your contribution of $100 or more.  Of course we are grateful for anything you may be willing to donate, but a $100 donation will gain you admission into the RS Central game and the first 25 to give $100 will get a free tee-shirt.  Additionally, anyone who gives $100 or more from Nov. 3rd until the campaign is over, will be invited back to a special viewing of the field once it is complete.  That will include free admission to that game and a pre-game cookout.

We are CHASE, and with your support, I look forward to celebrating with you when we reach our goal and look forward to this spring-boarding many other improvements as well.

Sincerely,

Kevin Bradley - Principal
