Welcome Guest!
This class will be helpful to all students interested in the health care field.    Allied Health II will provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to take the North Carolina Nurse Aide Exam.  Most Nursing Programs require that students now have their Nurse Aide Training prior to entering Nursing School.

This class is different from other high school classes.  Students will learn knowledge through books, internet, videos, and hands on skills that they must master prior to going to the clinical setting.  Once entering clinical setting it is imperative that they be on time, dependable,  honest,  hardworking, dressed professional in uniform chosen by class, have hair pulled back, all piercing removed, no tattoos showing, no nail polish or fake fingernails, and no smoking prior to coming to the facility.

Students will be required to perform the skills they learned in class at Rutherford Hospital and Autumn Care Nursing Facility.  Type of skills to be performed are:  feeding patients, providing oral care, bathing or showering patients,  hair care, dressing patients, changing adult diapers, helping patients to the restroom and activities of daily living that the patient can not perform for self. Patients depend on the people who take care of them.  This is why it is very important the student be caring, dependable, honest, as well as being hard working. Upon completing Allied Health II and taking the VOCAT.  If the student maintains a 75 average, they will be eligible to take the North Carolina Nurse Aide Exam.  The exam will cost $101.00 to take.  All students wanting to take the NCNA exam must have a valid government or state-issued picture ID, such as a drivers license and must have their Social Security Card.
