The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for our region. We expect significant ice, widespread utility outages, and dangerous road conditions, followed by sub-zero wind chills through Tuesday morning.
Given those conditions, Rutherford County Schools will observe remote learning days on Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27. Remote work is authorized for eligible employees on both days.
It is rare for us to adjust the school calendar this early or for two days at once. However, the forecast and likely service outages make an early call the best one for our community.
